The Beginning of Valiant Power


Founded in 2010 by Henry Weng, Paul Fang, and Darren Weng, Valiant Power initially focused on manufacturing diesel generators. The journey began by chance when the company received an unexpected inquiry from a customer in Australia in March 2010. This inquiry requested the manufacturing of a "solar lighting tower," accompanied by some technical documents. At that time, solar technology was still in its infancy, and few recognized the potential for solar panels to be mounted on trailers equipped with LED lights for effective lighting solutions.


Paul Fang dedicated an entire week to interpreting the technical documents, delving into the complexities of solar technology and trailer design. This commitment led to the design and procurement of necessary parts. By August 2010, Valiant Power successfully completed its first-generation solar lighting tower, the VTS3P-L. The Australian customer was thrilled with the product, yet there were notable shortcomings that needed to be addressed.


         

Continuous Improvement of VTS3P

The VTS3P was a pioneering effort to combine solar panels with trailer technology, resulting in various challenges that became apparent soon after its release. Customers, particularly those operating in coastal areas, reported issues such as rust on the trailers and disorganized wiring layouts. These initial setbacks could have discouraged a less determined team, but Paul Fang and Henry Weng were resolute in their commitment to enhancing the VTS3P.

Paul took it upon himself to engage directly with customers to gather feedback, carefully identifying critical pain points for improvement. He listened attentively to their concerns, which ranged from electrical issues to structural integrity. Meanwhile, Henry focused on refining the product design based on the feedback collected by Paul. He actively sought out better materials and suppliers, striving to optimize the trailer's structural stability and towing capabilities. Their efforts were not solely reactive; they also considered potential challenges customers might encounter during use, with a strong emphasis on safety and overall user experience.


Darren Weng played a vital role in this transformation by training factory staff and updating machinery to align with evolving production standards. In China, labor is relatively affordable, but many workers lacked specialized training. Recognizing the need for skilled labor, Valiant Power invested in comprehensive training programs to ensure that workers could meet the high quality standards demanded by customers. This commitment to excellence meant adding several steps to the production process, which ultimately resulted in a higher caliber of product. After years of dedication and hard work, the enhancements made to the VTS3P not only met but significantly exceeded customer expectations, building a strong reputation for Valiant Power in the industry.

The Evolution: VTS3P and CCTV Integration

Prior to 2013, Valiant Power primarily produced solar lighting trailers that were sold to mining countries such as Australia, the Middle East, and South America. The American market, however, represented a small portion of their business. Most American customers expressed a preference for simple solar trailers without additional features, which left the team perplexed about the specific needs of this market.

This confusion was clarified in May 2013 when Andre, an Australian client with operations in the United States, visited Valiant Power. He was thoroughly impressed by the company’s efficient production processes, state-of-the-art equipment, and the professionalism of the staff. During his visit, he provided valuable insights into the American market, highlighting that customers were increasingly interested in mobile security trailers equipped with CCTV systems.

Armed with this newfound understanding, Valiant Power began to develop solar trailers integrated with CCTV systems. Initially, the VTS3P struggled to meet the diverse needs of customers across the vast U.S. geography. For instance, in areas with limited sunlight, such as the northern United States, three 435-watt solar panels were insufficient to power a CCTV system. To address this challenge, the team ingeniously combined the solar trailer with a gasoline generator, enhancing the power supply reliability for customers.

For the southern U.S. market, Valiant Power introduced the VTS2P—a lightweight, economical trailer featuring two solar panels. This model quickly gained popularity among customers in the southern states, further solidifying Valiant Power’s reputation as a flexible and responsive manufacturer.

Today, Valiant trailers come equipped with Victron components, enabling customers to remotely monitor battery charge and discharge, thereby ensuring the safety and longevity of the system. As a result, a growing number of customers are choosing Valiant Power for their mobile security needs, leveraging the company’s products to build successful rental and resale businesses that yield substantial returns.
